One name that should have been mentioned in ALL CAPS in your essay would have to be Captain Bowtie, the Superintendent who followed Freeman. My last year at Shaker was his first year at Shaker, and it was 10 months of unmitigated Hell. Pretty much everything you referenced (except the initial Mitchell incident) can be traced back to him.
